The dates for 2012 are 16th, 17th and 18th March.

The event is based on the triples format and can be any combination of male or female players with a limit of 32 teams, priority being given to non members of the Association.

The entry fee is £25 per team and this includes all green fees with each team being guaranteed a minimum of 4 games.

The first round is played on a “Round Robin” basis with 4 teams in each group. The winners and runners up in each group will progress to a Knock Out competition and the third and fourth teams will play in a Knock Out consolation competition.

Further details and entry forms together with advice on accommodation available within the area can be obtained from the Association by telephoning 01597 825014.

Following a break of one year the Heart of Wales Tournament was once again staged by the Radnorshire Indoor Bowling Association with a total prize money of £750. Twenty teams of triples were entered including teams from outside Wales, many of whom were delighted to be able to return after the one year break. The teams were randomly selected into five groups of four and each team played the other three in each group. The winner of each group together with the three highest losers were then entered into a knock out phase to find the overall winner. Those who didn't make it into the knock out stage of the Main Competition were entered into a separate knock out stage for a Plate competition.

Ken Richards, who had been very much involved with the Tournament in past years was in attendance for most of the games and was there to present the trophies and other awards to those who were successful.

The spectators were entertained throughout the day with bowling of a very high standard but when it came to final of the Main Competition the standard reached a new level. The result remained in doubt throughout the 18 ends of play with the "Reunited" team from Hereford finally taking the glass trophy by a single shot. The "Strongbow Please" team were the runners up and included Jess Williams who is a local and the only female to enter the final stages of the Main Competition.

The Plate competition also provided some excitement and was finally won by the "Getogethers" team after a friendly but hard fought match against the "Rose & Thorns" team who were the only team to be skipped by a lady. As players and spectators left the event the talk was all about how much fun had been had and many expressions of interest for next years Tournament.
